Certain professions have their own credit cards, there are reward branded credit cards, the list is endless.

Perhaps you qualify for a platinum card. Australian residents with an above average income and excellent credit typically qualify, but should you bother to compare platinum cards? Platinum cards are intended for people travel a lot, have an expense account, or like to stay in nice hotels and enjoy upscale traveling for pleasure. If that’s you, then the benefits of having a platinum card far outweigh the costs.

There is no sense wasting your time trying to compare platinum cards if you are not interested in the travel perks, travel-based rewards, travel insurance, or the buyer protections offered because these features are the hallmarks of platinum cards. If you’re the type of person who wants a credit card to keep in your wallet for emergencies only, then it’s not worth getting a platinum card because of the annual fee.

First, you need to decide what type of credit card you need before you start to compare platinum cards, even if you qualify for one. It’s confusing enough trying to sort through all the available cards without adding unnecessary types of cards to the mix.
